I've been meaning to add this to my list of reasons why I hate Dave Grohl, but then it happened again. Dave Grohl costs me money because whenever a Foo Fighters album comes out, I have to buy it. Every time the Foo Fighters come through our area, I have to buy concert tickets. I am a poorer American because of Dave Grohl. So here's the latest event where Dave Grohl may just as well have literally stuck his hand into my pocket, pulled out my wallet, grabbed a wad of cash, flashed me a big old smile and said, "Thanks amigo, I'll take that!"
Them Crooked Vultures are on the cover of Guitar World this month (check out the cover: just one more indicator as to whose band this is; hint: top center). I used to subscribe to this magazine many years ago, but no longer do. When I found out who was on the cover, I decided I needed to have it because one, I really wanted to read the article and two, I thought it might give me more fodder for this site. Well it did, not because of the article, although that was interesting enough, but because when I got to the counter of our local Reader's World (screw you Barnes and Noble!) the nice lady said, "That'll be $7.99." Seven ninety nine?! Then I noticed that the magazine came with a special cd-rom with guitar lessons (Learn to Play in the Style of Randy Rhoads! Lita Ford shows off her greatest riffs! The ultimate Michael Jackson guitar lesson!). I'm not sure the talented people at Guitar World thought too much about matching the cd with the cover. Then I pulled out the subscription card to find out how much that costs if it is costing me eight bucks just to buy one. $12 for 12 issues. That's right, one lousy dollar. Effectively Dave Grohl cost me seven bucks. Okay, I guess part of the blame rests with Guitar World, but regardless...
I hate Dave Grohl.
